

19 years ago at 4:14 am Maui time, my Dad took his final breath.
Grief is a natural part of life. It doesn’t feel good but it is so,
totally, a part of the human experience. I help people go through
grief and all of it’s complexities in my work, and I am guided
through my own experiences. You can’t get through life
unscathed by loss. It’s just how it is. But you can have tools to
work with that help you navigate the multilayered demands of
living the course of life while grieving. In the US, very few people
understand how to be supportive to others who are experiencing
grief. I remember feeling like I was weak for not “bouncing back”
in the days, weeks and even months following my fathers
passing. What I’ve discovered with grief is that the only true way
to get through the grief is to honor it and all of its demands.
It may help to know that when you experience loss of any kind,
and especially a big one, like a the death of a person you love,
the very foundation of what you understand to be true has been
shaken and is now on unstable foundation. Why? Because the
context of what you understand to be true – life with this
significant person or thing being there – has been lost. And now,
a new basis of understanding must be formed. This takes time.
It takes time to rebuild a new understanding of life without this
thing/person.
When my Dad died, I remeber thinking…
This is what it feels like to have my Father at the funeral home.
This is me going to my Dad’s funeral.
This is me seeing his casket in the ground.
This is me and my family without him in the picture.
This is me not being able to call him.
This is me brushing my teeth without my Dad here.
This is my first birthday without him.
This is me going to work without my Dad here.
There were a LOT of things that I did without him.
As we all do when we lose someone or something.
Go on without them/it.
Every second of every day was a new calibration.
I decided to fully embrace the process as it unfolded.
That took a full year.
A full cycle of the planet around the sun to experience all of
life’s holidays, birthday events and activities without my Pop.
Then, magically, it felt like a lid gently closed over the
container of my grief.
Life started to get back to a new normal.
The weight of the loss finally lifted.
My life here continued on.
I can feel my Father in my life every day, supporting me and the
work I do from the beyond the veil.
Without this experience, I would not have this deeply reverent
respect for the grief process.
It has been an excruciatingly beautiful experience.
One that I honor today, on this anniversary of his passing.

I’m going to get honest here. On the surface of a soon to be post-covid reality, things look a bit bleak. By all observable media outlets things seem very topsy turvy. From a muggle point of view, and in all directions, things look to be going down the tubes. So how can a conscious goddess be the beacon of light amongst the seeming disarray of the present reality that she came here to be? How is she to see beyond the reality playing out here on the surface of our beloved planet Earth?
I mention the term muggle because it helps to define with precision that there is a more magical way to look at your reality, and that is a fact. Magic to some can seem scary, frightening because it conjures images of unseen forces working with ill intent behind the scenes.
Yet you, my friend are not a muggle. You are consciously aware of the fact that you are magical. You have a way of letting your soul light shine. You know how to read people, you’re highly intuitive, empathic, and you’ve been doing your inner work for some time. But something is preventing you from reaching your absolute optimal expression. Your soul wants to soar and something within you is feeling blocked. Like a catapult that is about to shoot high into the stratosphere, yet is somehow unable to launch.
The good news is the thing(s) that hold you back are simply muggle things. The human things that we perceive as a part of the storyline that gets in the way of our true soul expression. The feeling of success that comes from the accomplishment of muggle achievements pales when compared to what cause us to feel that feeling of true soul expressed success in your life. That feeling of contentment that comes from achieving something deeply meaningful and fulfilling your soul mission and purpose. What causes you to shift is committing to the alignment of your soul’s expression.
You’re already on the path. You simply need a slight recalibration to open the floodgates of what is possible. You may not know what that looks like, but you know it is big. I am the one to help you achieve this. You are much closer than you may think, and your soul knows it too. That is why you keep getting nudged in this direction. Contrary to popular belief, you are brand new in every moment.
Your consciousness is the bridge to your less anxious life, but the reason you doubt what I’m telling you right now, is that you
have a system of beliefs that keep you stuck in a perpetual cycle of anxious thought loops that are re-generated in each linear
moment.
Freedom is available to you right now, but you must be willing open to the possibility of radically shifting the way you do things.
It doesn’t need to be difficult.
What’s required is a willingness to throw out the old, outdated play book and consider that there might be more effective ways of
being well in this life.
To give yourself permission to reconsider the way anxious thinking effects your life.
A common way to see our negative patterns of thoughts and behavior is to marginalize them.
To hate on them.
We’re taught to think of our problems as cancers to take a drug for or have a surgeon slice it out and remove them.
But there is a way to take the bitter battle out of the equation.
And it does not require drugs or surgery!
This new way paradigm of thought, in other words, long lasting transformation happens when people are really truly ready to
move away from what’s not working and commit to adopting new more nourishing ways of being.
Even if that means shifting away from negative behaviors that although negative, provide some level of comfort.
When it comes to consciousness shifting – changing the old programs of the mind – there’s got to be total ‘buy in’ by the client.
That is because the subconscious mind will only take in what is believable.
Yet, knowing that change is possible is enough for anyone to give it a good college try, right?
The way I like to lead into building an understand of what this new paradigm of thought might be like is like changing the scale on
a map.
Imagine zooming in for more detailed clarity, zooming out for more big picture perspective, or a third option, zooming to a
space in the perceptual gray area of perception.
Hypnosis brings you there.
Wherever your ‘there’ is.
Consider this perspective shift:
A shift from a linear time progression forward in life, to a quantum, streaming-in-the-moment, all perspectives access to reality.
Yet if it’s as easy as playing with zooming map perspectives, why are humans struggling with anxiousness and worry so much?
It’s because we as a collective have fallen into a pattern of thought that prevents us from feeling safe.
What causes us to feel safe?
When our primary needs have been met.
If we’re anxious, the mind and body can’t feel safe.
We’re in fright/flight mode.
When we’re in FF Mode, we lose track of the ability to grow.
Because to our subconscious programming, we’re not thriving, we’re under threat.
The thing about FF Mode is, it becomes the default program if we don’t do something to convince the mind/body complex that it’s
safe.
The intellect is the ‘driver’ of these programs.
The emotions are the expression of these programs.
So how do we change this old, no-longer-interesting paradigm of thought?
By understanding 2 simple things, we can create the bridge to your less anxious life.
Acknowledgement of your feelings, sensations and emotions is key to becoming the quantum optimizer of your life experiences.
If you do nothing other than simply saying to yourself, I acknowledge this feeling, sensation or emotion at the moment you are experiencing it, your life will change. This is because the reason you are having these experiences of feeling, emotion etc. is because it is the wisdom of your consciousness communicating what your mind/body complex needs in real-time.
By advocating for those in-the-moment bits of streaming data, you are employing the wisdom of all of the cells in your body, as well as allowing yourself to learn how to listen to the needs of your being in a way that shifts you out of FF Mode, and into wellness, thriving mode.
I think we can all agree, that we want that for everybody.

Hypnosis can be the most rapid and effective way to achieve change, it is has been proven as a highly effective and drug–free alternative way to change thoughts and behaviors or altering to a positive mindset and enhanced perception. In this interview we learn more from Nora Yolles Yong at Young Hypnotherapy about how hypnosis works and the benefits of this therapy.
That is a fabulous question. I’ve always been a person that was interested in a connection with the spirit realm. I was obsessed with ghosts as a kid, and I was always contemplating the nature of the soul. Fast forward to the birth of my first child, and it became clear that I needed to deepen my access to my extrasensory capabilities. It was clear early on in my clairvoyant training that energy healing came naturally to me. My entrance into the healing arts was hands-on healing following training in the tradition of Barbara Brennan. About a year or two into my private work with clients, I discovered the work of Dr. Michael Newton, who wrote about his discovery of Life Between Lives Therapy in his game-changing book Journey of Souls. In essence, Newton used a regressive hypnotic technique to guide clients to the space in-between life incarnations. That fact that this was something that could be done was mind-blowing to me. When I read the book, I knew this was it. I had been unconsciously seeking a way to bridge the spirit and earthly realm to benefit people. This pivoted my professional focus to the field of transpersonal hypnotherapy. My soul resonated with supporting people with shifting their consciousness to improve the quality of their lives. I was hooked! The rest is history.
I have the skill set to work with most clients. However, my preference is to work with people who are having a spiritual awakening. People are finding their consciousness awakening in ways that can feel overwhelming. My job is to help them understand that this is a good thing, and we get to work healing what needs healing, and then raising the bar of what is possible in their lives. I’ve found that 3 of the hallmarks of a spiritual awakening are: Anxiety, stress, negative self-talk, fear of being judged, Issues with focus and hyper-sensitivity to the energy of others.
Ah, this is where I get to dispel a common myth. I can tell you what being in a ‘hypnotized’ state does not feel like. It does not feel like you’re under anesthesia or totally unconscious. In practice, hypnosis describes a type of focus that is different than an intellectual, executive focus. People naturally cycle through natural states of hypnosis throughout the day. It occurs when we’re waking up, falling asleep, on long drives, watching tv, daydreaming or worrying. Worry is actually a type of negative hypnotic trance.
Great question! The biggest fear and concern that clients come with is that they can be controlled in this process. In stage hypnosis, the hypnotist’s goal is to entertain. So, they want hypnotizable people. In a hypnotic show, you’ll see the hypnotist sending people quickly to their seats for one reason or another. What’s happening is a kind of vetting process. The ones being sent to sit down are the people who are demonstrating subtle signs of their unwillingness to be hypnotized. People who are open and willing participants make the best hypnotic candidates. This goes for hypnotherapy as well. My advice, only work with a hypnotherapist that you trust and have a rapport with.
Hypnotherapy and regular therapy sessions are different, and they complement one another. My favorite clients are people who have been in therapy for a while and are looking for something that offers more of a deep dive into their consciousness. That being said, I love working in partnership with other therapists and wellness practitioners. I envision a day when working with a team of mind, body and spirit practitioners will be commonplace.
Well, there is a legal issue there. As practitioners, we’re not at liberty to state that we cure, heal, or diagnose yet some things have happened in my office that I consider absolutely miraculous. Not long ago, a client came to me with fibromyalgia pain. Something that she’d been suffering with for many years, but it had a clear and spontaneous onset. She was on a number of medications to manage her pain and before I worked with her, I made sure she understood that the approach I was going to take was more metaphysically oriented. She was on board and felt certain that she needed to work specifically with me, so I agreed. During the session, I guided her to the origin of the fibromyalgia in her body. She went to a moment while gardening at the house she’d recently moved into and suddenly gasped. I asked her what she was experiencing, and she was able to see that the spirit energy of a little girl with leg braces attached herself to my client’s energy body. We assisted this little girl to the other side, where loved ones met her. The effect of this experience has enabled my client to go off the fibromyalgia medication and she is now pain free. An interesting tidbit, later my client was asking a neighbor about the family that lived in the house before her, and they confirmed that there was a little girl with leg braces that lived there.
That one is pretty inspirational for me. Helping people to access their soul essence and consciousness to achieve their goals and even raise the bar of what they thought possible is my mission and my happy place. It’s work that nourishes my soul. All of the people I work with are people that I love and care deeply about. I only work with people I feel drawn to work with and feel are a good match. It may seem cheesy, but all of my cases inspire me.

Grief happens to us all. Grief is a very personal experience.
No two people will go through it the same.
I remember when my father was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer, grief gripped my mental, emotional and physical body.
But my soul knew EXACTLY what to do.
My life changed that moment, and so did every one of my priorities.
In the batting of an eyelash what mattered before, dropped to the bottom of the “this is important” list.
My behavior changed.
I became more internal.
Friendships shifted.
My soul guided me perfectly.
I was so blown open that my ability to make clear decisions softened and I become more of a pulsating nerve navigating through life.
Through the course of my father’s treatment, losses and successes outlined the topography of my journey.
It was a rollercoaster.
Yet the soul knew.
Grief is the process by which YOU and me experience loss.
Loss is what is happens when our familiarity is disrupted.
We lose and gain in every moment of every day.
Some losses “feel” bigger than others.
You are the only one that can calibrate the significance of each loss or gain.
I remember people treating me as if I should be over my dad’s death a few weeks after he transitioned.
I wrestled with how they could be so clueless.
But again, this is my journey.
I get to go through my grief however I need to.
And that’s the thing right?
Going through grief is quite different than denying grief.
